These days' people are working longer and longer, so when a person finally is able to retire, this is absolutely a cause for celebration. Retirement is a huge reward for someone who has worked for decades and is ready to devote all their timef to their own interests and hobbies. If you have such as friend, here are a few gift ideas to consider and a few party planning tips.
You can rarely go wrong with gourmet chocolate, and while there are plenty of specialty chocolate shops building chocolate gift baskets, it can be fun to select something such as a unique Chocolate Pizza. Chocolate Pizza Company creates each of these gourmet delights by hand and ships them all over the country and Canada. They also have invented the perfect accompaniment for Chocolate Pizza, which is Peanut Butter Wings.
Chocolate Pizza begins with a crust built with handmade English toffee and either melted milk or dark chocolate. There are many topping options to consider or you can opt for a pizza with a simple artistic drizzle of white chocolate. The Peanut Butter Wings are made from peanut butter and crushed potato chips drenched in milk or dark chocolate. If you want to send a bit of everything, Chocolate Pizza Company has chocolate gift baskets with wings, slices of pizza, chocolate cookies, gourmet s'mores and much more.
One of the pleasures of retirement is being able to really enjoy your favorite hobbies. Presenting a new retiree with a gift tailored to his or her hobbies definitely will be welcome. For gardeners, give them a gift card to a favorite nursery as well as basket filled with seeds, gardening gloves and hand tools. A golfer would love a new golf shirt, personalized golf balls or perhaps a leather scorecard holder. For a person who is planning to enjoy the country via RV, consider buying some gear for this new vehicle or a handy RV guidebook.
If you are planning a party, have guests bring gifts that either fit the person's hobbies or perhaps prepare them for retirement. There are some funny books on the market for retirees, and even Dr. Seuss penned a work for the retired crowd entitled "You're Only Old Once!" There are also t-shirts, mugs and hats with various retirement themes and funny sayings that guests could bring.
A buffet filled with finger foods and sandwiches and plenty of great beverages are all you might need to serve. A buffet is casual and allows people to mix and mingle rather than planning a formal sit-down affair. Decorate the buffet table with pictures showcasing the guest of honor's life. Set up a basket and have guests record a favorite work memory or give some retirement advice or state what they will miss about the person. Don't forget about the dessert, either. This is easy a perfect opportunity to try out some gourmet Chocolate Pizza and some other decadent treats from Chocolate Pizza Company.
